When he shot Elwood Coates ( Akins ) so many times I thought he was auditioning for the Chicago Police Department.

It's definitely the best fight scene Claude Atkins was ever a part of. When they were fighting on the stairs, I was thinking to myself about how I didn't expect to find a fight this good in this movie. A lot of memorable fight scenes are that way. They're usually not in the big budget classics, but rather in some of the smaller or lesser known films. Sometimes, they're in TV episodes.

Looking at Chuck Connors himself, I actually think my favorite fight that a character of his got into was the Rifleman episode "Seven" where he battled the leader of a group of seven escaped convicts. It was a lot like the one in this movie, although the action stayed in the street instead of going all over the place. Come to think of it, I wouldn't be surprised in the least if that fight and this one had the same choreographer.
