Is any of this true?

Well I did see this several years ago and remember it as being quite realistic. This makes me think that perhaps it is based on a true story, does anyone know anything about this?

reply

So, if it is on TV, then that means it must be true. Wow.

Addona,
Now I really do not think so, which is one reason why I am asking. Did my post indicate otherwise?

reply

Addona, or whatever your lame-@$$ name is,
Jeeze, do you always go out of your way to prove what an @$$hole you are? You don't have to work at it so hard- it is quite evident.

Yes, and we notice that she cannot even answer or reply to a direct question to her.

To some extent, the story is true regarding the introduction of Hereford Cattle to America. It happened around the 1800s. Herefords came to the United States in 1817 when the great statesman Henry Clay of Kentucky made the first importation -- a bull and two females. The first breeding herd in America is considered to be one established in 1840 by William H. Sotham and Erastus Corning.

Regardless if they got the dates right and so forth, Rare Breed was still a good movie.

Agreed. I very much enjoy this movie, with a very interesting Brian Keith-Jimmy Stewart-Mareen O'Hara triangle. An excellent performance by Jimmy Stewart.

The movie was also based on the life of rancher Col. John William Burgess.
