The Rare Breed = Racest???

I was watching The Rare Breed on my sweet 47" plasma screen TV and I noticed that there aren't any crippled or retarted people in this movie. I know this movie is super awesome and no one can dispute that fact but is it racist against crippled people???????????

Please respond.

oh please. That guy with the squint eye could be looked at as a disability. Your post is crap anyway.

First of all, I know that your post is merely a method to raise feathers, but if I actually thought it was a legitimate post, this is what I would say....

1. The word is "retarded." There is no such word as "retarted." For what its worth, if you're going to claim "racest" (we'll get to that later), then you might look up the correct terms that have long since replaced "crippled" and "retarded."

2. Racism. Allow me to provide you with the definition:

"hatred or intolerance of another race or other races"

"Crippled" and "retarded" aren't "races." Perhaps you meant "prejudice?" Prejudice meaning a partiality against a religion, culture, other means of thinking, etc.

So I suggest you step away from your "sweet" 47-inch plasma screen TV, and pick up a book to learn a gain a little more knowledge and lose a little more ignorance.

SimplyClassic,

Good response. Thank you. I have disabilities, yet I do not demand every film contain a disabled character as this would be ridiculous and I would lose the pleasure of many great works.

Edgar, who is crippled, twisted, perverted

p.s. Name that film.

The Hustler (1961)?

reply

Yes, thank you. I hope you enjoyed "The Hustler" as much as I. I could make a complaint against Hollywood concerning "The Hustler" and other films.

My friends all know me as "Eddie." The conflicted pool hustler of the title is named, "Fast Eddie." I defy you to find a character in an American film or TV show named "Eddie" who is not a criminal, degenerate, or weirdo. There all a few, most notably the title character of "Eddie and the Cruisers." The ration of normal "Eddies" to social-reject "Eddies" is shameful. I think it's funny, so I don't complain except for laughs.

Best Wishes,
Eddie Haskell, Eddie Munster, Eddie from "Rocky Horror," Eddie from Iron Maiden, etc. etc.

reply

What about Eddie, the lead singer of Eddie and the Cruisers, played by Michael Pare? Or the Whoopi Goldberg character, Eddie, from the movie of the same name?

Can't think of two many more that aren't weird, etc.

Funny post, though!

Why are you all bothering to respond? The OP was obviously joking or mocking political correctness. He also sounds like a kid.
