Where's the story?

We rented this on DVD and tried watching it. The first 14 minutes were boring, so we watched a further 20 minutes and it was still boring.

The story is pretty much non existent. Shame because I am a big fan of James Stewart - but even he couldn't rescue this mess.

Just 2/10.

One would expect from a "big fan" of Jimmy Stewart to have the patience and the interest to give a chance to any of his films, and watch it to the end. Even if it wasn't one of his best works.
Otherwise, what's the meaning of being a "big fan"?

I wouldn't have thought that any James Stewart fan would complain about this movie. I enjoyed his devoted search for the bull during the blizzard.

I turned it on just yesterday, right at the start. Immediately I thought of McLintock!, which, while amiable enough, is a Western comedy and never achieves any tension. As soon as I saw the beginning of TRB, I really didn't want to sit through that sort of thing. I'll have to give it a try one day, but I'm already disappointed.
