If remade, who would play the Woody Strode character?

Thoughts?

Chris Tucker.

Hmmmm...a older man (Woody was 51 when this movie was made) who's still insanely athletic? How about Idris Elba? I can't think of anybody else even remotely comparable. My mates and I first saw 'Sergeant Rutledge' when we were in college in Greece in 1982. We "young bucks" in our early twenties were utterly amazed at how 'ripped' the 45 year old Strode was in that movie; it totally made us feel inadequate.

Djimon Hounsou would be the best actor to take Woody's place.

Is Djimon old enough & 'ripped' enough to play the part? I don't mind his accent as Strode didn't say very much during the movie---can you tell I think Strode is/was AWESOME?!

Djimon is 49 or 50 and ripped to shreds.

Eddie Murphy in all 4 parts, because that's as ludicrous as a remake would be

Don't forget the opulent use of flatulence as tension breaker, while they're eating around the campfire.
