First Viewing Interpretation

Not sure if this interpretation has been stated before.

I watched the film as if it were an allegory about an actress researching and becoming a new character. Elisabet never talks because she's trying to let Alma's personality saturate her. The scene where Alma makes love to Mr. Vogler as she impersonates Elisabet with Elisabet's encouragement.

It's a thought and I think likely Elizabet used what she got from Alma in performance. I don't think it's a the core of Elizabet's character.

My inclination is to think Alma making love with Vogler is Alma's dream but a large group here thinks A&E are just E.

I guess the really interesting thing is simply to think about this film from different angles without needing to assign it to one.
