Jennifer Jones/Eleanor Parker
Jennifer Jones was announced for this film but Eleanor Parker took the role, not sure why Jennifer opted out, however I do hear she had a fling with Stephen Boyd...so she got something great anyway out of this.

I believe it had something to do with the passing of her husband, David O. Selznick, around the time 'The Oscar' was set to begin production.
