This would be a great remake material.
Even though he is not considered a "A" list star I would cast Eric Roberts as Frankie Fane. I think the actor has a lot of talent and just needs a role-of-a-lifetime to pull it off. Yeah, I like most of the film projects he has been in.

Have to disagree this is perfect the way it is. Good luck getting a movie funded with Eric Roberts in the lead.
