What is that object Dr. Eswai pulls out of the wall?

It's the scene when he bangs on the door and says "You'll all be killed if you don't help each other!" then right after that he pulls what looks like an unwound white rope with white chunks of something on it out of the wall just off screen. I know this board is dead but does anyone know what that is?

looked like a rope of garlic to me.

I just looked at the trailer to clarify it and yeah I agree it's garlic, my memory was vague on what it was so it just seemed weird to me, thanks.

What seemed weird to me is how many and how much thick spider webs were all over the place.

I was waiting for a 1 foot wide spider to show up at any time.

No two persons ever watch the same movie.
