Dark Sky DVD release

Someone is selling this DVD release of Kill Baby Kill from Dark Sky for $180, stating it was recalled. I don't know anything about it. Can someone fill me in? Why was it recalled? Is it really worth that much? Is the widescreen and Tim Lucas commentary on any other releases. I am also curious as to whether or not there is Italian audio and English subtitles on this disc.

I guess I could probably look all this up myself, but any help would certainly be appreciated.

Dark Sky decided to recall their DVD of Kill Baby Kill because Anchor Bay was already set to release their own. Since AB put their version in a boxed set, perhaps Dark Sky felt that most people would want more Bava for their buck.

I checked out the Ebay listing for the Dark Sky DVD, and the seller is misrepresenting the quality of the recalled DVD. The Ebay posting implies that the Anchor Bay release is not anamorphic widescreen, which is untrue.

There is an excellent comparison of the two here:

Be sure to read this before deciding whether or not to pay $180 for the Dark Sky DVD. I would also recommend that you email Dark Sky and ask them if there are any plans to release Kill Baby Kill in the future.

Get the AB box set with it, goes for about $23 on Amazon.

You'd imagine that Dark Sky would at least release the Tim Lucas commentary for $5 a download or something rather than recall the DVD and never let the special features see the light of day.

One...two...five!

I have the box set but also picked up the dark sky release at a used dvd store in chicago for cheap a few years ago. anyone know what it is worth now?

I'm pretty sure Dark Sky didn't willingly pull their DVD of KILL BABY KILL. I think there was a rights issue, Anchor Bay must've had the legal upperhand and Dark Sky had to withdraw their version from circulation. It's a shame as I understand the Dark Sky version is excellent.

I DEFINITELY would like to see a Blu Ray release for this film soon!
