Sven viewers have been asking to see this one again-so, we’re happy to bring back classic TV’s first family of fright- as Herman and his brood take off for jolly old England when he inherits the the title of “Lord Munster”- and the wrath of his nasty cousins- in “Munster Go Home”!

The chance to see the Munsters in full color is definitely part of the appeal of this flick, as Herman gets word that he’s the new lord of Munster Hall- and heads overseas on a cruise ship with his family. There is a “Love Boat” quality to the trip, as niece Marilyn meets a nice young Brit who appears to be an auto enthusiast- more about him later! When the Munsters finally arrive at Munster Hall- they are met by snooty (and jealous!) relatives like Lady Effigy, and cousins Freddie and Grace, who are none too thrilled to have Herman as head of the estate- and try various schemes to run him off.

Meanwhile, Marilyn helps an older squire in need- only to find that he’s the father of the young fellow she met on the boat! There’s a catch to it all- their family has always been at odds with the Munster clan-and before long, it’s Herman defending the honor of the Munster clan in a road race-while devious business at Munster Hall is revealed to threaten their success!

Noteworthy in this movie is the “creation” of Grandpa’s Drag-u-la hotrod, as well as the appearance of great British comedian Terry-Thomas, and John Carradine in a role different from his usual one on the Munsters TV show.Also- this film’s Marilyn is NOT one of the TV nieces- we’ll tell you all about her, as well as a few other familiar faces. We also add something you haven’t seen before to this show- highlights from a trip we took to the Volo IL Auto Museum, in which we go in search of the Munsters’ vehicles!

“Munster Go Home” runs tonight on Me-TV at 10 pm eastern and pacific, 9 pm central, and please check what time we’re on near you in your local listings. In Chicago, at 11 am on WCIU, the U, get a final look at the movie that brought us record ratings on Me-TV last week- the giant grasshoppers VS Chicago epic- “Beginning of the End”!
