Where was seaside castle location? 'Goldfinger' ?

Hi all -

I have just spent a fair amount of time online trying to locate the castle (apparently on the Mediterranean) where much of the film takes place. Any ideas? One site suggested the bay of Naples, but it does not seem to be near a large city.

Also, I am _guessing_ the twisty mountain road in the film may be the same one used in "Goldfinger" where Tilly tries to shoot Goldfinger from a distance and almost hits Bond by mistake. I think the one short still shot of the roads (looking down toward the valley) was a subtle homage to "Goldfinger"

The castle location reminds me a bit of the location in 'Hudson Hawk'..

As far as the Bay of Naples, it could be, the surroundings remind me of the Amalfi Coast from Sorrento down through Positano south of Naples..I drove the coast road there a few years ago, incredible place.

The road in Goldfinger was in the Alps in Switzerland, IIRC.

I was also wondering.

It surely is not the Bay of Naples - and I really doubt anywhere in Italy.

To me it would be more likely Greece.

Anyone?

if you check in the locations you will find it says sicily. everyone...

Sicily. Yes, if you check somewhere like Google Earth, you will see there are islands off Sicily, especially north including the volcano Stromboli, but also around the western tip.
