'abas la republique des lâches'
Paul writes this on the door of the bathroom, where two gay man are kissing. So I didn't know what "lâches" meant, so I looked it up, and apparently, someone invokes it when an opposing party sleeps on its rights, being no longer entitled to claim anything. So, is Godard saying that the gay community hasn't fought enough for equal rights, or something like that?
