Great Music

Although some of the scenes are over-baked,the music in this movie is outstanding. Davis does an excellent job of miming the music. I missed Morgan Freeman in an uncredited role, though. Cicely Tyson is very sweet-looking and fresh. I was glad to see Lola Falana whom I used to have a crush on as a teen in the early seventies. I know her primarily as a dancer, so I enjoyed seeing her in a dramatic role (I also remember her in The Liberation of LB Jones). I have always liked Ja'net DuBois. I'm glad Byrd, Judge Judy's bailiff, was a guest programmer on TCM and introduced me to this film.
