Is there a scene where he is swimming to shore and he thinks he sees a boat in the distance but as it comes closer it is a shark fin?

Formerly AD655321 I'm just a bloody normal bloke, a normal bloke who likes a bit of torture.

Mixture of

a) animation (fin in the distance)
b) fake plastic fin (when close to the raft)
c) stock footage (shark underwater w/o raft in frame)

Let's not criticize it by today's standards, but enjoy it as an artifact of 1966.
