Misguided vanity

Any sensible man would know it would be impossible for the American merchants and their egotistical star to make a decent attempt at portraying this complex suicidal man.

What's worse is that they dragged in Olivier to lend some gloss and appear as the blundering hero's adversary.

He's asked to play a ranting, bloodthirsty madman goading his illiterate pack to murder.

The madman has little to do but rant. And, unfortunately, this maniacal goading is undermined by being filmed in a claustrophobic studio in a series of very short appearances—
