Peanuts was always my favourite comic strip

When I say comic strip, I mean the "funnies" at the backs of newspapers, but yeah, Charles Schulz' Peanuts was always my favourite of those strips, and I loved all the characters. They sold the strips as books with four panels per page, most of the time, and it was these that my family had, and I was always entertained by them. I've seen Schulz' drawing style evolve from the beginning of the strip, all the way up until the 1980s, where extra characters were introduced and the drawing style was finalised.

Charlie Brown was a bit like me, but Linus was always my favourite. His sister Lucy was always a bit of a crabby bitch, but then again Linus stood up for himself, especially a memorable strip involving her threatening him about taking away his security blanket and him practically yelling at her. Schroeder was always on that toy piano with Lucy resting her head at its base, Pig-pen was still the veritable dust magnet, and Peppermint Patty and her friend were later characters that brought along a new dynamic in her relationship with "Chuck". There was even a next generation of sorts with the Van Pelts' new child, Rerun, who to me was always a younger Linus. But Snoopy was the most memorable character of them all. It was only a 2D strip, but I often wondered how Snoopy could sleep best lying on top of his doghouse when logically he should fall off, and his friend Woodstock who only spoke in tiny short lines made you wonder what he was saying.

As I said, it was my and my family's favouritest strip at the time, and believe it or not, when we got a dog in 2001, we named it Snoopy, as we couldn't think of any other name for it!
