What a dull movie, all talk and no action. Most of the cast, particularly those in smaller roles, stand around muttering darkly and over acting. Only Laurence Naismith as the distraught father and Geoffrey Bayldon as the caring vicar are any good.
A disappointment.

i only recently watched this movie on late nite ABC and found it really good !the priest was heaps funny
shareI thought it was dull too. The pace did pick up (and it did get slightly more interesting) after she was taken away with the Gypsies. I only watched it to the end because I was trying to figure out Brydie's age.
shareGypsy Girl is a lost gem of a movie well deserving of its 7+ rating. I noticed it was free on Amazon Prime and gave it a try. It far exceeded my expectations. The ending was wonderful and uplifting and a bit of a surprise. Laurence Naismith & Geoffrey Bayldon may have been the best. The rest of the cast performed more than adequately. Hayley Mills gave one of her better performances.
