Burn mark on James Garner's neck ?

I've only seen this flick once, at the old Cinestage Theater in Chicago during its first run. (The theater later became a porno house, and is now part of the Goodman Theater in Chicago's downtown live theater district.) Anyway, as I recall, at the end, Garner is on an empty track reflecting on his life and career. There is a noticeable rough spot about the size of a half dollar on his neck. A real burn that happened during filming, or, an added bit of makeup for realism ?

Sorry folks. After posting, I found this article which explains it as a real burn, from a stunt gone wrong during filming:

Now, we know.

Darn, I thought it was a hickey from the co-star.

Which co-star, Yves Montand or Jessica Walter?

reply

;) I'm pretty sure that it would be Jessica. I don't think James Garner ever went "that way," but there's nothing wrong with that.

Of course, he _was_ in Victor/Victoria...
