The MST3K verion!?

reply

Wasn't aware MST3K made fun of this flick. Not that I know of, though. It's going to be the uncut Japanese print, with possibly the American one thrown in, and some extras.

In fact, Shout Factory acqiured the rights to ALL of the early Gamera flicks and will be putting them all out. The first one is supposed to come out in May.

Well, they must have persuaded Sandy Frank, scince he owns them. Now theat ShOuT! Factory owns the rights, the mst3k version should be due out soonas well.

reply

Sorry to disappoint, but according to Brian Ward of Shout! (who produces the MST3K sets), the MST3K version will not be coming any time soon. He indicated that the owners of the Gamera movies (not Sandy Frank) take their rubber monster flicks seriously, and are not fans of the what the MST3K guys did with their masterpieces. The same thing applies to the Roger Corman movies, the rights to which Shout also recently acquired.
