Grim
I couldn't abide this film. It was basically "How to steal a million" with all the chemistry between the leads sucked out.
Pretty awful!
If you think this movie is grim, do yourself a favor and avoid "Schindler's List."

Though this was from "cheapjack" Universal studios and Michael Caine wasn't yet as big a star as Peter O'Toole...I like this better.
The plot is nifty(we see "the perfect caper" in Caine's imaginings and then "the real deal" with MacLaine taking charge); MacLaine was never prettier; Caine the Young was in his heartthrob stage (all these decades later, we forget he WAS one.)
I thought she looked a lot like Teri Garr here. If you can, re-watch the scene where Nicole meets Shahbandar the morning after the heist. She’s the spitting image of Garr there
