sorry, i really tried to stay with it, but they lost me about 2/3 of the way through

yes, the film is intelligent, but they need to do a better job, or maybe a slower job, explaining a few things

i now know all the crazy and too numerous plot developments, but only thanks to wikipedia synopsis

i know it's considered sophisticated not to spell everything out, but there has to be a middle ground between movies for morons, and movies for people willing to not understand everything

Len Deighton, the author of the novel, seems to like writing stories with complex plots.

You weren't alone in that assessment....it's a classy film, skillfully acted, but the convoluted storyline is difficult to follow.....the third film, "Billion Dollar Brain" was designed more like a Bond film....fairly easy to follow, capped off by a loony, way-over-the-top finale....
