Michael Caine is a great actor with enough charisma to carry the movie. His charisma and the dialogue make even the slow parts fun and interesting.
Do pay attention, too! Some of the obvious stuff is just cover up for the not so obvious parts!

I agree. This lacks the wonderfully dark atmosphere of "The Ipcress File" but more than makes up for that with an interesting storyline, excellent script, and superb acting. It is a bit hard to follow at times but overall a terrific movie. I wish they had made more of these.
