Disney movies you never see!

I saw this film today for the first time after reading about it in a book on Disney's earlier films. It was shown on BYU. That's the Brigham Young University Channel. I get it as part of my Directv package. Walt Disney would probably roll over in his grave to know many of his older films get no tv exposure. This was the last film Walt Disney had a hand in. He died 2 weeks after it was released in theaters. During the holidays I also found old Disney titles selling for $8.00 or less on DVD in Wal-Mart. This film was one of those. 'Follow Me Boys', is also selling for $5.00 on amazon. Here are so others that I had seen before but like this film -they're rarely if ever shown on tv! I have to note the box art looks dull on all of them so I can't imagine the DVD transfer will look that great. I know I left out the Love Bug films & The Parent Trap, Flubber but you do see those from time out of interest because they've been remade.

Funny you mention this, mojo, because I just watched the movie the other day. I also get DirecTv and the BYU channel is part of my package, too.

They must have made a deal with Disney as they've shown a lot of Disney movies over the last several months.

BYU has also shown BLACKBEARD'S GHOST (1968) along with many of the films listed in the above post.

Hey someone else is up!

I have to go back over my channels again because I had no idea some of these channels like BYU were in my package. (lol) I did see 'Blackbeard's Ghost' on the channel and I loved it. First time seeing it too. I'll have to tag the channel as a favorite. I wish they would show 'Those Calloways'. Brian Keith and the ignored Vera Miles (unless you're talking about Psycho) are favorites of mine along with Fred McMurray.

Speaking of these films ,I was in BJ's yesterday (just like Costco) and they had a few of the films in the 4 pack for $9.99 which is an even better deal.

Disney 4-Movie Collection: Kurt Russell (Strongest Man in World / Computer Wore Tennis Shoes / Horse in the Grey Flanel / Now You See Him

Disney 4-Movie Collection: Don Knotts (Apple Dumpling Gang / Apple Dumpling Rides Again / Gus / Hot Lead & Cold Feet)

Disney 4-Movie Collection: Herbie (Love Bug / Herbie Goes Bananas / Herbie Goes To Monte Carlo / Herbie Rides Again)

> BYU has shown 'THOSE CALLOWAYS' with Brian Keith and Vera Miles recently. I've seen it air at least twice over the past 6 months.

Some other Disney movies I've seen on BYU over the past year:
NO DEPOSIT, NO RETURN
HOT LEAD AND COLD FEET
PETE'S DRAGON
HAPPIEST MILLIONAIRE, The
SON OF FLUBBER
BEDKNOBS AND BROOMSTICKS
SHAGGY DOG, The
SHAGGY D.A., The
UGLY DACHSUND, The
THAT DARN CAT
CAT FROM OUTER SPACE, The
MIRACLE OF THE WHITE STALLIONS, The
BISCUIT EATER, The (1972)
TOBY TYLER
DARBY O'GILL AND THE LITTLE PEOPLE
20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA
3 LIVES OF THOMASINA, The

IT seems that most weekdays at 2 PM (Eastern Time) BYU airs a movie. And a lot of those movies they put on at two o'clock are Disney films.

After reading your list of Disney movies you never see anymore. I had to research whether or not Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was actually a Disney movie. My hunch told me it wasn't. It turns out I was right. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was a Dramatic Features Warfield Productions film. However, I do agree (although, I own many of the films, on your list, which I bought from Amazon) with your list of movies that are not but should be shown!

Great list. One that didn't make it: "Song of the South" because it is allegedly racist. That one will NEVER see the light of day, at least not in the U.S.

The Trouble with Angels is not a Disney movie either. Some of these have appeared on Netflix. My local library has all these titles available for checkout.
