Enlightening Epic

Excellent film that is hugely considered, ambitious and enlightening in its portrayal of the complexities of extreme power and the delicate balance between Machiavellian & Solomonic diplomacy, brutality and tradition required to keep that power intact - whilst also shining a torch on the power that esoteric knowledge holds over the uninitiated.

It intelligently reveals why so many empires, governments and secret societies look to Egypt for tutorage and inspiration.

Indeed, it went further then most other epic films about the old Egyptians. I was very interested in the political 'play' between priests, pharao's and other parties like the Phoenicians.

It was also sad in seeing how individuals like Sarah (the Pharao's Jewish wife), their son, and even Kama (the priestess of Astharte) got crushed between the millstones of politics.
