No credit to E.T.A. Hoffmann

This movie is based on the ballet, "Coppelia," which is based on two of E.T.A. Hoffmann's stories, "The Nutcracker," and "The Sandman."
I wonder why he gets zero credit when the story is essentially his.

The movie is airing on TCM again, on Sunday, June 24 at 10:15 AM Eastern.

A delightful movie which should offer credit to the real author of the stories.
Catch it if you can and DVD it if you have the equipment.

I've been struck by all the elements that are similar to the Nutcracker without realizing that Hoffmann wrote the story. That now makes perfect sense! It is quite odd that they wouldn't credit him.
