The Forbidden Fruit

Since the forbidden fruit of the society is books so then is biblically the Forbidden Fruit, the Apple, being eaten in the beginning and ending of the film.
Francois Truffaut put many symbolisms in the movie as he took several years to assemble the novel into a motion picture.
