I am so happy I discovered this movie. =D Through SBS, yay. I fu cking loved this movie. It's so original, and actually entertained me and scared me. I was astounded that such a revolutionary film was made in the 60s. It's beautiful. I appreciate it so much.

It's a great horror movie. It has so many fun elements but is still creepy 40 years on. Visually the B&W scenes evoke so strongly the classic Universal, RKO and independent classic horror movies and that color sequence is just fantastic. The movie is a great horror pastiche and deserves more recognition. The Coffin Joe trilogy (At Midnight I'll Steal Your Soul, this, Awakening of the Beast) are airing on IFC this month too and they're all worth a look. But this middle chapter is the crown jewel and best of what I've seen from Marins. A brilliant pleasure.
