The Talking Carpet/Rug/Curtain? ????

The bodies trapped in the walls are the big part of Ze's nightmare, but WHAT was up with that talking carpet/rug/curtain thing? That may have been the most insane thing in the whole movie, which is saying something! It raises the question of WHAT could someone have done to get THAT as a punishment?

If anyone can offer any insight, please go ahead.

I suppose it represents ultimate punishment and torture. It's so bad that it has to be hidden away. It leaves it up to you to decide what is the horrible thing happening behind the curtain as each person has a different fear.

Maybe...I dunno. I just like the nipples.
