dennis weavers shout

Sounds like he's yelling "LAAAAAAAAAH!" continuous loop. Anybody agree?

reply

It just sounded to me like he was screaming because he was being tortured.

reply

I still remember that scream from when I was little.
Sounded like he was getting a fire bath.

I went to this movie as a child - thinking Sidney "Lilies of the Field" Poitier and James "Support Your Local Sheriff" Garner would only be in a light-hearted film. I have to say this movie was dark & brutal. The torture, while off-camera, was some of the most unnerving, sickening stuff I have ever endured in a film. This movie really scarred me as a kid!!

reply

I don't remember being "scarred" as a kid, but I do remember LITTLE BIG HORN(1951) with Sheb Wooley being tortured by the Sioux and Hugh O'Brian's grisly dragging It was a shock for somebody who was used to Roy Rogers and Gene Autry. I also analyzed LBH for a film class and pointed out that Roy was beaten up by Dale van Sickel and Dave Sharpe in BELLS OF SAN ANGELO, you knew he would be back to sign another song. Not so with Sheb Wooley. Wooley was alwas more convincing than Rogers in westerns.

OP,
Were your parents siblings, by any chance?

reply

No, but your mom was a female dog.

This will be the high point of my day; it's all downhill from here.

Was the Wilhelm scream(s) used at any time in this movie?

reply

I don't think I would have missed it. I say no.

The world economy will crash in 2016, so for now, have fun!
