Disappointing.

Had been wanting to catch this movie for a while, since I like both James Garner and "serious" Westerns... but was quite disappointed. A potentially great storyline wasted by a dull screenplay and lackluster direction (and was it just me, or were some shots slightly out of focus - and not deliberately so?)

The movie deserved a better score, too, not Neal Hefti's attempt at spaghetti.

The scenery was pretty spectacular, however.

I can't help wishing that someone would remake this story into a better movie.
