NBC Pros-Cons

Kudos to NBC for righting the wrongs of the last decade of airings. Its the first time the cartoon has been shown unedited since returning to network television a decade ago. Although I did notice they trimmed some fades and aired the credits over promos for another show. Because the Lord knows viewers need more commercials. The special looks the best it ever has, even better than the airings I watched as a kid. I'm guessing they used the Blu-Ray remaster.

However, this was the 50th anniversary of the special on TV. I would've expected some companion or commemorative special to mark the occasion. Maybe show old promos CBS aired the original night or interviews with some of the creators that are still alive. June Foray or someone like that (even though Foray is 100 years old and may not be up to doing interviews, as well as other people). :) If nothing else, they should have re-aired an updated version of the special Turner Network Television did in the mid 90s. They would probably have to do a new narration out of respect for the children of Phil Hartman.
