Nothing To Be Ashamed Of

This fine Hammer thriller has a great pedigree - based on an Edgar-nominated novel (THE DEVIL'S OWN, by Peter Curtis [pseudonym of the British historical novelist Norah Lofts), starring Oscar-winner Fontaine, and with excellent supporting performances by Kay Walsh (memorable as Nancy in David Lean's version of OLIVER TWIST), Alec McOwen, Michele Dotrice and Gwen Ffrangcon Davies.

The novel was reissued in the late 1960s under Lofts' own name as THE LITTLE WAX DOLL.

"In my case, self-absorption is completely justified."
