Where can I find a copy of this film?
Does anybody know of any way I can actually see this movie, aside from waiting around and hoping it may get shown on the classic movie channel? It is the last Monty Movie that I need to see.
Thanks in advance

I long to see it, too. I once heard of a website (canadian) where you can order a copy on videotape (not suitable for me for i'm german and we have different videosystems here)...
Maybe anyone here remembers and/ or knows about that side?
Well, Ive asked TCM to play this film on their channel... The reason I gave was that "ITS MONTY CLIFT'S LAST FILM GODDAMN IT!"... clearly I was frustrated at the time :)
I guess they are my only hope at the moment.

You've succeeded so thank you. It's the last movie in today's Monty Clift marathon on TCM, and I'm recording it as I type.
It's also available on DVD

This company has a VHS copy. They are located in Vancouver, Canada and rent by mail.

Sadly renting it isnt an option for me, as Im in the UK. Id have to have them send it over here and then get it back to them within 3 days from what I understand from my quick glance on the page. Also, did it or did it not say they they would reserve the title, but it doesnt necessarily mean that they actually have it. Please correct me if Im wrong there.
thanks.

It's a real shame. I saw the movie when it first came out and it was great.
Dunno what the hold up is about a release.

I'm recording it onto a DVD from TCM right now. It's the last movie in a Montgomery Clift marathon. I also recorded A Place in the Sun, The Heiress, I Confess and The Search. I like recording off TCM because of the commentary by Robert Osborne and Ben Mankiewicz.
Apparently, The Defector is now available on DVD. Contact me if that's not an option.
