Great movie

This is the first movie I have ever seen where Coburn was the lead.
He really took me with his character. From the moment he began talking to the therapist in jail I was hooked. So much so I thought to myself the story he just told is excellent anyone would be proud to have written it, it reminds me of the scene in Citizen Kane where the reporter is interviewing an old man (asking if he knows anything about what Rosebud meant to Kane, he tells a story of how he took a ferry in New York and crossed paths with a woman dressed in white). It felt like a independent film if anyone knows some facts please post.
This is a solid character driven movie with some simple and ironic twists. I really enjoyed it.
