Lunar Park

Oddly, this film is featured quite prominantly in the new Bret Easton Ellis book, Lunar Park. As is Speilberg's 1941. Hmm....

Yeah, true.
And while we're at it, just out of curiosity regarding the book, could anybody tell me what Harrison Ford's character does in the movie ? I know he's a bellhop and all that, but does he have any lines, what does he say,...? It's nothing important, just want to double check on Lunar Park, because it's written as an autobiography, and some things are actually true while others aren't. So just out of curiosity, I wanted to know if Bret Easton Ellis had actually truly quoted the movie, or just adapted it to fit his "fictional autobiography".

Ford has a couple of lines. He says "Paging Mr. Ellis" over and over again. Coburn asks him if he's looking for Joe Ellis (or some similar name). Ford responds "No, Charlie Ellis, Room 607." Coburn says that's not him. Ford walks off, calling out "Paging Mr. Ellis" again. That's it. The whole scene's less than a minute, I would think.

What does Ellis say about DEAD HEAT? Thanks.

In the book, Bret Easton Ellis, playing himself, has a meeting in Hollywood with Harrison Ford's people about an upcoming project. This is near the end of the book.

Throughout the book, weird supernatural things are happening to Bret concerning his dead father Robert Ellis. These things he soon discover also concern his made up creation Patrick Bateman(American Psycho)whom he based off his father in real life.

So he is writing a story that will kill the fictional Bateman and hopefully resolve issues he has with his deceased father. On the DVD he puts in Ford's first movie Dead Heat on a Merry Go Round. When he finishes the story at that point in the movie Harrison Ford, in his only appearence in the film, say's "paging Mr. Ellis" To which Coburns character responds "Bob Ellis? Robert Ellis, room 72?"

Robert Ellis as I stated was Bret's dad's name.
