It's hysterically funny!
IMO, it is better than its predecessor. I think it's a pretty good movie. I'd introduce a casual fan to this film first and then the first one if they like it.
It's out on DVD but the 2 American prints are both the same and have a dumb edit to them. Because we Americans are idiots who cannot handle the concept of a prologue, the prologue is edited to follow the opening titles. Even though there's an obvious, unresolved musical cue at the end of the prologue now.
It was first released in R1 around 2000 by Anchor Bay but that version is out of print and going for ridiculous reseller prices. Lionsgate has a version manufactured on demand on DVD-R on Amazon.com. It's a double feature of both Anchor Bay prints. The Anchor Bay boxed set included a 3rd disc with a documentary called Dalekmania. I believe Dalekmania can be had separately on demand also from Amazon.com.
There is a UK R2 DVD release is that is better. However, you'd need a compatible DVD player and a TV that supports PAL, or software to convert PAL DVD video to NTSC if you're in R1. I converted my R2 copy since I'm in R1. I got my R2 copy off of eBay.
Plus, I know there is an R2 Blu-Ray release that came out about a year ago. I think there may have been an accompanying R2 DVD release of this print, but I'm not sure.
You know your stuff!
I am impressed.
It's a good thing!-Martha Stewart
Yes they should remake this movie it would be awesome. This movie and the previous one are both remakes of the original TV episodes. A modern remake with special effects and visuals would be fantastic. I am looking forward for BladeRunner 2 next year though.share
