Sinister Cinema has a DVD-R copy for sale on it's website www.sinistercinema.com for about $16.95. Can't say how good it is but I've bought quite a few movies from them and have been happy with the overall quality. Hope that helps ya!
I finally bought a DVD rip from ioffer.com and it was terrible. The VHS master had previously been played to death---terrible, terrible copy. However, the case and artwork were praiseworthy. Then I saw where someone had bought another one off eBay and they had nothing but praise for the clear copy. So it is the luck of the draw, I guess. I would SO MUCH rather buy a clear, legal, DVD release. But if the studios refuse to release it, then what is a fan supposed to do???????
shareBrother I sure feel your pain! I've had to buy several copies of both DVD & VHS by trail & error too. I've found that Image / Wade Williams versions are the best in picture & sound quality for B-movie titles like "Giant Gila Monster" , "Phantom Planet", and "The 4D Man". Also, ya can't go wrong with Sinister too. They've done right by me since 1999 when I was collecting movies on VHS tape and the overall quality of the DVD-R copies from them is even better! Hang in there! Every once in a while some of the big mainstream outfits releases a Sci-Fi / Horror title or collection of them in all it's remastered glory.

Finally bought a clean DVD copy on iOffer. It was ripped from a broadcast on the Space channel in Canada.
shareThere is no remaster. Sinister's product is direct from the vhs.
