Joy and George separated but remained on good terms. They were never officially divorced.
Elsa was killed when biten by a tick (a tick could take down a lion???) Joy was killed by some young punk, and George was killed 9 years after Joy by some poachers..
May be all 3 of them finally joined each other in heaven... Who knows...

Very tragic indeed! At least while here on earth they helped animals; they will be rewarded in heaven......

Just think, they adopted Elsa back in 1956!
They worked for the welfare on animals all their lives, I just left flowers for her at find a grave.

Joy was murdered by an ex-employee who was angry because she hadn't given him the raise that he believed he deserved.
George was murdered several years later by Somalian poachers. He had had guests over for dinner and as they left his place they were attacked by the poachers who tried to rob them. George witnessed the attack and stepped in, in an attempt to save them. Unfortunately, they shot him dead.
My mother was a personal friend of George's and spent a lot of time at his farm, so I've gotten this information from her.
