New North American Blu-ray (Feb. 2014)

The new Blu-ray edition of THE BLUE MAX looks and sounds fantastic... like it was shot last year, rather than almost a half-century ago.

Released by Twilight Time, it is limited to a pressing of 3,000 copies and is somewhat expensive ($30). It is not being sold (new) at Amazon or other major e-tailers, but rather direct through Twilight Time and Screen Archives Entertainment.

Alas, the only bonus features are an isolated music score option (with commentary about the score) and a liner notes booklet.

As stated, this Blu-ray is nice... but pricey!

I have it and it's great. Given that it's a very limited edition, I thought it worth having.

It even works in my Region B Blu-ray player.

The only downside is that it shows up the lens errors in the original.

Why limit this???Sure there are loads of people who would want a nice Blu-ray copy of this film.

If there's demand, they'll do a re-issue. Given that it's now going for $80-90 on Amazon, that might happen.
