Plot questions

Why would Rhageeb bother to create a phoney hyroglyphic message with a microdot on it just to inform Yussef Caseem the Beshraavi plans to murder the prime minister instead of just calling him or telling his wife about it? How did he come by that information in the first place? What would Yussef gain by knowing this (whose side was he on). Why did Beshraavi have the prime minister taken to the countryside if he was simply going to kill him? And why did Yasmine tell Pollock that it was her house in the beginning when she was the prisoner of Beshraavi in it, and it was very obviously his house? So many questions, so few answers. This is one convoluted film!

You are right.

The only answer to any of that is about Beshraavi kidnapping the PM. He had the decoy denounce the treaty and then had him killed. Having the real PM's dead body at the airport would pose a huge problem when it was eventually discovered. So he had to get the PM out and kill him somewhere else where he could be disposed of. Why not kill him at the airport and transport his dead body? Too messy? I don't know.

Another question I have is that if the message simply says Beshraavi is going to assassinate the PM, why is Bashraavi so eager to have that decoded? What on earth did Bashraavi THINK the message was?

And the biggest head-scratcher, when David escapes, Beshraavi sends a goon after him who nearly kills David. Why did Beshraavi send anyone at all? Logically, once he escaped, David would head right to the fake PM and ambassador (both working for Beshraavi). He would then decode the message for them of his own free will and Beshraavi would have the info (you know, the info he already is obviously aware of).

The plot made absolutely no sense, so Donen tried to hide it with a quick pace and some quirky camera angles. It's actually an enjoyable film if you can manage to completely turn your brain off and avoid any logical thought processes.

Well if he deciphered it in the presence of the imposter PM then he would have figured out that Beshraavi was going to betray him
