More evidence (if we needed any) of how good Cary Grant was - he's one of the elite group of actors who are irreplaceable.
Cary Grant was indeed a great actor...so was Gregory Peck, the star of "Arabesque."

This movie would have been much better if Grant had played the role as was originally intended. No one said Peck wasn't a great actor.

yes he was he just didn't do comedy well (and he admitted it himself) - Cary Grant certainly could not do atticus finch or other roles calling for the stature and dignity that Gregory Peck possessed

shareI agree; I'm a big fan of Gregory Peck but here he falls flat and frequently seems to be trying to pull off what Grant does effortlessly.
shareIt's a tough role for anyone because they are basically being asked to play Grant. Cary wasn't the most versatile actor, but for the roles he could do, nobody could do them better.
