Andrei and 'There Will Be Blood?'

I saw a lot of the bell making story from Andrei in "There Will Be Blood." I saw the same kind of "Ahabian" madness in the boy that I saw in Daniel Plainview, all be it with far different endings. I LOVE both movies, they are both masterpieces.

Did anyone else see the parallels between the two films? I've never seen/heard it discussed before.
