Today this would be considered racist.

Gofer : "ablue ablue ablue ablue ablue"

Colonel : "What did he say?"

Gofer : "him say you stupid, fall in our trap."

It was funny though.

Well, it's understandable though, considering the real-life racial tensions between coyotes and gophers that persists to this day.

I'll take humor over the idiotic political correctness that is so pervasive in today's society anytime and twice on Sundays. It's really ruined the entertainment industry because every time some meatheaded nitwit starts yapping about being "offended" they take whatever offended him off the air.

At the same time, much like Speedy Gonzales, the Gophers always get one over on the Colonel and the Sergeant, so it's not necessarily a completely negative stereotype. The speech pattern is the main problem.

"Fortunately, Ah keep mah feathers numbered for just such an emergency!"
