Sorry if this might have been asked for the zillionth time on this board, but what's the deal in the last episode when they were once again sent aboard the Titantic? Were they caught in an endless loop of events or something?
shareThe explanation is simple. Each episode had a cliffhanger ending to the next episode. The first episode to air after “Town of Terror” (the last new episode) was a repeat of the first episode “Rendezvous with Yesterday.” Because the pilot began with Senator Clark flying in by plane they couldn’t run the first few minutes of the episode like they usually did, so they ran a series of clips from the episode more like you would do for a preview than a cliffhanger. But notice that at the end of it, they still do the standard cliffhanger message “Next week…see this fantastic adventure in…THE TIME TUNNEL.” No time loop – just a simple ploy to get you to watch the next episode.

shareOf course one could have some fun with it. What if Doug and Tony were plagued with having to relive all of their travels over and over again infintely. Never aging and never returning home. Stuck in the same sequences of time jumps. Kind of depressing when you think about it.
