Robin Hood episode

Just watched it, and my first thought was Robin Hood responsible for the signing of the Magna Carta in real life? I thought he was one of those characters who may or may not have actually lived. My knowledge of English history in that period is weak now, but I don't remember this from any of the Robin Hood tales I have seen or read.

Robin Hood is loosely based on one or more historical figures, but almost everything we associate with the character is fiction.

This is one of the sillier episodes--having them meet Robin Hood, Friar Tuck, et al. is as realistic as if they dropped into 1840s London and met Ebeneezer Scrooge, Bob Cratchit and all the rest.

Thanks! That's what I thought but after the episode I thought "maybe I skipped that part in class" and just forgot. I thought there was debate whether he even lived and thought it was like you said.
But seeing that Time Tunnel is the most accurate portrayal of history and time travel on TV, I was second guessing myself. In fact, I think some schools are using Time Tunnel episodes in class to show what it was really like at various points in history. Just kidding ha ha. I still love the show even with a goof like this.
