What if they landed on the Jupiter 2?

Always wondered if all the Irwin Allen shows are set in the same universe wouldn't it have been cool if the time travellers landed on the Jupiter 2... Or in some other show.

Or the SS Poseidon? Wouldn't that be kewl?

reply

Indeed that would have been cool.

I think someone else mentioned that here too.

or helping out Paul Newman in THE TOWERING INFERNO, LOL! (god, how IA convinced Newman to appear in that and THE DAY THE WORLD ENDED is beyond me

reply

maybe he offered him wads of cash..........

What's wrong with Towering Inferno? I think it's an OK movie.....

Needs a remake.

It is no secret that Paul Newman knew that "When Time Ran Out" was going to be a bona fide turkey, but did the movie solely to get the big pay check that he used to jump-start his 'Newman's Own' salad dressing business.

Maybe if they did land aboard the Jupiter 2 they could have tossed Dr. Smith out of the air lock, like he so richly deserved.

A good ending to all those Irwin Allen shows featuring characters lost in time, space or whatever, would be this.

I don't include Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea, as it is already set on Earth - and it is assumed that the characters go home to their wives and children at the end of each adventure!

The Time Tunnel crew appear on one of the planets the Jupiter 2 (the Lost In Space ship) is on - they are somehow armed with enough of the necessary component parts to make it go, as it were - they go via the Land of the Giants and manage to rescue Steve, Mark, Betty, Valerie, Fitzhugh, Barry and Chipper from there - they are all initially returned to the Time Tunnel complex - Doug and Tony are now safely home, so they then have to work out how to get the Spindrift crew back to their own time and the Robinson family, Dr Smith and Major West back to shortly after the Jupiter 2 took off and bring them all safely back - and relaunch their separate missions with better ships - the Land Of The Giants crew get to London and not that land of huge humanoids and the Lost In Space crew - without Dr Smith - get to do what they originally set out to do, with nothing to impede them! As for the Time Tunnel people, they have come up with a way of bringing Doug and Tony back to the complex at the end of each adventure and not dragging them from one place to the other - and even control which era they visit!
