Broadcast live?

Hi,

I'm interested to know if anyone can confirm if the early series was broadcast live (or at least recorded in front of a live audience on the day of transmission)?

I'm particularly interested in S1 Ep6 (From Liverpool with Love), as the opening conversation is about "another naked woman found at Epping", in relation to a murder. This was broadcast on Monday 25th July 1966.

A distant relative of mine, a 15yo girl, was killed (and found mostly naked) on the edge of Epping Forest the day before, and it was reported on the front page of the Daily Mirror newspaper on the day of the broadcast. I'm trying to determine if the timings work such that it's likely that the dialogue in the episode was referencing this event, or whether it was recorded sometime before and therefore complete coincidence (I'm not aware of any other murders involving naked women around the Epping area in the weeks leading up to my relative's death).
