TDUDP created one of the best loved American '70's sitcoms

"To Death Do Us Part" created one of the greatest American sitcoms of the time: All In The Family. With "Archie" (Carol O'Connor) being a right "wingnut" of the day and his son in-law "Michael-Meathead" (Rob Reiner) as the young leftist back in Archie's face liberal. Conservative or Liberal, Archie Bunker was beloved by both sides. By the way, a program that would not be allowed in it's past form to be created for network TV today. All the synonyms/acronyms for political, social and especially nationalities would not pass any broadcast standards and practices due to the way society has changed in our world over forty plus years.

Another much-loved American sitcom of the '70s, Sanford and Son (1972) was also based on a British classic; Steptoe and Son (1962).
But I wonder how many Americans who cherish these shows are actually aware they a remakes?
