More Mexicans in Africa than Africans?

One of the things I found funny about the TV Tarzan was that the character of 'boy' was played by a Latino. Furthermore, whenever Tarzan appeared in the main town or village/whatever near the waterfront area, the place was filled more with Latin-looking folks than Africans.....What was up with that? I guess the series was filmed south-of-the-border or something? I know there were black gueststars to play the Africans, but obviously the production was shot somewhere in Tijuana for a 'foreign jungle' kinda look.

Well, if Tarzan was a White dude from Texas why not?

All the episodes were filmed in Kenya, India, Thailand, Malaysia, but mostly Mexico, and Brazil.

Maybe Tarzan loved his bananas with a tequila and enchiladas. Who knows?
